The academic success of children is measured in the way of how they are capable of developing in reading, writing and using arithmetic. It is important to note that no 21st-century skills implementation can be successful without developing core academic subject knowledge and understanding.
In order for our children to do well in math, science, English, history and other subjects, reading skills must be developed to the point most of them are automatic.
Reading Diploma helps our children in a lot of aspects of their life by giving them a chance to improve themselves, learn new things, gain experience from others to name a few, in addition to building their critical thinking skill.
However, this can’t be possible without parents’ active participation. While it is critical to provide children with various reading experiences that are playful and fun, such as nursery rhymes and rhyming games for the little ones to expose them to the sounds of our language (bed-time reading helps too!), it is also critical for young children to observe their parents reading.
Let’s build a healthy habit of reading together as a community whose main purpose is to see our children grow to be the next leaders in the future.
